LADWP Vehicle Use Policy
I understand and agree that the use of a vehicle provided by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) is a privilege and I assume the obligations required.
I understand that failure to comply with the requirements stated in this notice may result in disciplinary or administrative action against me, up to and including termination of employment.
While operating an LADWP vehicle, I will:
- Certify that only approved users of LADWP will operate the vehicle.
- Hold a valid drivers license for the type and class of vehicle operated.
- Inspect the vehicle before driving it and report any damage caused by me while the vehicle was under my control
- Report any moving violations, convictions, or at-fault accidents immediately to my supervisor/human resources/risk management coordinator/corporate services.
- Keep the company vehicle neat, clean, and free of any trash or debris.
- Be solely responsible for any driving infractions or fines as a result of my use.
- Not operate a company vehicle when any physical or mental impairment affects my ability to operate a motor vehicle safely.
- Not operate a company vehicle at any time while consuming alcohol, illegal drugs, or prescription medications that affect my ability to operate a motor vehicle in compliance with law safely.
- Only use a mobile device in Hands-Free mode as directed under California law.
- Not smoke in the company vehicle.
- Return the vehicle with a fuel level of ½ tank of fuel or higher.
